I have set up my shared inboxes in Thunderbird (the TUD-managed Ubuntu 22.04) and I am able to receive my mail to all of the shared inboxes but not able to send mail from them. The error I get is the following (I removed my netID for the purpose of sharing the error here):

Sender address rejected: not owned by user <myNetID>@tudelft.net\datasteward-ME.

The configuration for the outgoing server:

server name: smtp-a.tudelft.nl
port: 465
connection security: SSL/TLS
authentication method: Normal password
username: <myNetID>@tudelft.net\datasteward-ME

I am the owner of the inbox. Anyone know what's going on?

I replicated this with one of my shared mailboxes. When I tried to send an e-mail, I get: `Sending of... (2 comments)

ICT could not help, but a colleague could. What works for me is the following (note the .netin the email address):

imap.tudelft.nl
Port: 993
NETID@tudelft.net\SHARED_MAILBOX_NAME
SSL/TLS
Normal password

for the IMAP settings and

smtp-a.tudelft.nl
Port: 465
SSL/TLS
Normal password
NETID@tudelft.net

for the SMTP settings (note that this is the regular NETID, ignoring the shared mailbox name).
